Originally designed for pine marten, mink, and muskrat trapping, the trap later became a trusted solution for nuisance wildlife control, especially squirrels and rats.

Each trap was hand-cut from plastic pipe with engraved markings using custom benders Bob designed himself — tools still used in R.C. Best manufacturing today.

Robert (Bob) C. Best continued refining the original Tunnel Trap design by improving the materials and overall durability.

The trap transitioned from plastic pipe construction to rugged 21-gauge steel for greater strength and long-term performance. Bob also designed an added safety feature to make setting the trap safer and more comfortable for users.

The Tube Trap was engraved with the WCS and R.C. Best Traps Knox, PA markings and eventually became known as the R.C. Best Tube Trap.

This improved design helped establish the trap as a trusted solution for nuisance wildlife control across the United States.
